The former Balchowsky building now houses a more recent historic business, Frankfort Bowl and Billiards. Few upstairs bowling alleys remain in the U.S. and Frankfort’s is the only upstairs bowing alley in Illinois.

Six bowling lanes were installed in 1949 and the originals remain today. Many young boys recall working as pinsetters in the late 1940s and early 1950s. In 1952 the AMF 82-30 machine pinsetters were installed and still work! Few bowling alleys today have these historic early machine pinsetters.
