2023 Historic Buildings Survey
The primary goal of the project is to update an earlier reconnaissance survey of this area, completed in 1996, and complete the first intensive historic resources survey for the Village of Frankfort, which provides important documentation to support the Village’s Historic Preservation Commission in its objectives. The Village was awarded a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant from the Historic Preservation Division of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to prepare the survey.
FRANKFORT PRESERVATION FOUNDATION – SAVE THE WATER TOWER
Please contact the Village of Frankfort regarding the “Save the Water Tower” campaign.
On August 19, 2024, our foundation presented the village with a check from our fundraising efforts. The timing was relevant since Senator Hastings just announced a significant state grant of $250,000 aimed at preserving the iconic downtown water tower.
