NOMINATION PROCESS
The Frankfort Preservation Foundation seeks to recognize village members who have acted to preserve, protect, and reflect the history of the Village of Frankfort. The intention of these awards is to increase awareness and knowledge of the historic significance and value of Frankfort’s historic buildings, homes, and heritage.

Three awards, each in a different category, have been established. Awards will be determined by the Frankfort Preservation Foundation Board. Awards need not be made on an annual basis.

Individual

The Foundation honors individuals who’ve demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity in actively promoting and preserving the Village of Frankfort’s heritage. Individuals who provided community service, worked to beautify Frankfort and/or build community unity will be considered.

Residential

The Foundation honors homeowners in/near the historic district whose residences maintain the character of late nineteenth-early twentieth century architecture. This can include a home that has been remodeled to fit historic standards or a new construction that reflects the character of the old town neighborhood.

Commercial/downtown Historic District

The Foundation recognizes businesses in the historic district that restore historic buildings, or adapt buildings to new purposes. This award can also recognize new construction within the historic district that reflects and compliments the late nineteenth-early twentieth century architecture of the downtown historic district.
